plainMADE retail has fancy new things added today.... pictured is the "falseknit scarf" a pattern created from a piece of knitting, screenprinted onto gorgeous silk. Exceptionally elegant in design, generous in materials and so reasonably priced ($32!) I never leave the house without a scarf in the fall and winter, and these are such a welcome addition to my routine.
In other news, I have been helping friend and designer, Rachel Ancliffe with a project that is finally opening tomorrow night at 5pm, (ribbon-cutting by Portland Mayor Sam Adams!)
The city organized for a few vacant storefronts in the SW commercial district to be used and curated by young independent designers and artists over the holiday season. Rachel was selected as one of those designers, and plainMADE's garments and objects will be featured in her shop along with the work of a few other artists. Come join us for the opening of workroom719, tomorrow evening from 5-8pm, 719 SW Morrison St.

Oh my goodness, this is marvelous. LOVE the way that the scarf is so playful with the idea of knitting!
