I dress in black mostly, peppered with shades of grey.
Since living in Portland my hair (on its own) has turned almost to black and I'm half sure my eyes are going from blue to grey. Strange.
So I'm actively combating this trend.
I slip into the print lab and start mixing up colors that look like this. A remedy or defense in the not-so- secret fight against winter darkness.
In the summer, I only love white and this transparent jade color. If I find myself by the coast, my hair is sure to turn light again. Until then....

Perhaps you should shop for your winter wardrobe at that new store in Portland, BrightSide, where their clothes come only in bright, cheery colors. Not a somber fabric in the joint. Not only might it lighten your mood, it could prevent you blending into the looming gloom and, in turn, keep you from getting run over by cars, as their drivers have trouble distinguishing the grey pedestrians from the grey surroundings.
I hear the Texas desert in February is anything but grey...
oh what pretty bits.
